COURSE OUTCOME

At the end of this course, the incumbent will be able to:

CO 1: Remembering- Enable the students to successfully convey the message and get selected in the interview using the learnt knowledge of grammar, word-formation, pronunciation and the Para-linguistic features (such as accent, pitch, vice modulation etc.)
The students learn how to persuade his listeners with all sobrieties manifested in his linguistic as well as paralinguistic skills, and prove him a successful communicator. This quality enables him to achieve his aim of life most effectively in the long run.


CO 2: Understanding- Enable the students to understand the mechanism of interpretation practicing various types of Reading Comprehension passages.
Enrichment of vocabulary takes place and the students also learn the usage of different words in different contexts through this which immensely help them in speaking fluently and writing good English.


CO3: Analyzing- Develop analytical thinking through listening (via Language lab audio device) to various enlightening speeches of various critics on various issues such as social/ political/ academic/ religious etc.
 Enable the students to develop insights through deeply looking into the matter and the supporting data or evidences and come to a conclusion. It helps to generate individual opinion. Students making an adept use of this analytical power in the professional life, in various experiments and even research work, attain fruition.


CO4: Applying- Enable them to choose and apply the right research methodology to serve the desired purpose through practicing technical report writing on various topics.
Through the course the student learns how to draw the correct inference; learns after looking into the findings, and keeping them in mind, apply the plan that would work in that situation most fruitfully.


CO5: Evaluating- Present ideas and defend opinions logically justifying the facts or information, validating ideas or quality of work based on a set of criteria and come to a proper decision through active participation in Group Presentations (/PPT) and GD (group discussion) sessions.
The students learn how to generate ideas, share thoughts, assimilate important points and make decisions working as team with multidisciplinary professionals. They discuss and throw new light on the latest developments and progress in the fields.


CO6: Creating-  Enable creative thinking and writing through story writing, practice extempore, telephonic conversation  etc. on uncommon as well as common topics and/issues to produce social awareness.
This discussions on imaginative topics not only incites their innovative thinking, extempore or conversation on social issues and cultural topics develop their ethical sense, sense of responsibility towards society and cater to its healthy growth thereby benefitting the whole nation as well as the world in turn.

 

PREREQUISITES

To understand this course, the incumbent must have idea of:

The students must have basic command of English to talk about day-to-day events and experiences of life. Comprehend Lectures delivered in English. Read and understand relevant materials written in English. Write grammatically correct English.
